SGRT: From Guideline to Clinical Practice
Following the publication of the SGRT guideline in 2022 [DOI: 10.1016/j.radonc.2022.05.026], the concept of organizing a dedicated SGRT workshop was immediately raised. A dedicated subgroup of this team, integrated into the FocusGroup Positioning & Immobilisation, drove the initiative forward.
In a landmark event at the end of October 2025, this idea culminated in an workshop held in the vibrant city of Maastricht, the Netherlands.
In collaboration with Maastro and several SGRT vendors, we brought together radiation therapy professionals from across Europe for the first International Workshop on Surface Guided Radiation Therapy (SGRT). Leading experts unveiled the latest insights into SGRT implementation, clinical application, and new developments. The presence of all vendors on-site fostered a uniquely interactive atmosphere for essential knowledge sharing.
The ESTRO-endorsed workshop offered a powerful combination of expert-led presentations and practical, vendor-supported training, including hands-on sessions.
A heartfelt thank you to all participants who contributed to making this workshop a true success!

Survey on setup, positioning and immobilisation
With this survey we want to collect information about existing guideline and work instructions for setup and positioning & immobilisation. Also we want to get knowledge if there are gaps that we need to fill.
By participating in this survey, you will provide information that reflects the needs of ESTRO members. Your contributions will help us understand how. With this we aim to improve the care for our patients and improve their radiation treatment.
