Dear Estro RTT Members, 

We would like to draw your attention to 3 vacancies available in the ESTRO RTT Committee.

The RTT Committee aims to promote visibility, represent, and advance the profession of RTTs within ESTRO. We are committed to aligning our views and workplan with ESTRO's broader vision of ensuring optimal care for all cancer patients receiving radiotherapy.

Our focus areas include:

  • Formulating strategic direction on RTT professional advocacy.
  • Strengthening the unique values of ESTRO membership for RTTs.
  • Enhancing RTT research and educational standards.
  • Creating networks with RTTs in Europe and worldwide to exchange knowledge and ideas.
  • Interacting with other professionals to foster synergy in the multidisciplinary approach to cancer treatment.
  • Encouraging a deeper understanding of the scientific basis of our profession and exploring new techniques.

The ESTRO RTT Committee consists of 15 core members with diverse expertise. Membership terms are for three years, renewable once. For more information about our members and activities, visit our (ESTRO RTT Committee).

As a committee member, you will:

  • Collaborate with a highly motivated group of peers.
  • Represent young professionals starting their careers in RTT.
  • Help organize activities such as the annual RTT workshop, develop programs for the ESTRO Congress, liaise with other professional societies, or contribute to European-level radiation therapy initiatives.
  • Dedicate approximately one hour per week to committee activities.
     

Who can apply? 

We are currently seeking three new members. Eligible candidates must:

  • Be full members of ESTRO who have actively participated in previous RTT activities and demonstrated high engagement.
  • Help foster a balanced and diverse committee in terms of gender, professional background, and geographical representation. Applications from underrepresented regions (e.g., Eastern Europe) or specialties like brachytherapy are particularly encouraged.
  • Bring fresh perspectives that contribute to the society’s growth and initiatives.

The ESTRO RTT Committee 

The committee has been instrumental in ensuring that RTTs are properly represented across a broad range of ESTRO activities and that their role in the multidisciplinary team is fully understood. RTTs are represented on the Education & Training Committee, ESTRO Board and Scientific Council. In Accordance to the RTT Committee Strategic Vision 2016-2021 the work of the committee can be categorised into four main areas: Education, professional issues, outreach and research dissemination.

Guidelines for Positioning, Immobilisation and Position Verification of Head and Neck Cancer for RTTs

The RTT Committee of ESTRO was established in 1993 to address the professional issues and needs of RTTs. The ESTRO RTT Committee represents RTTs at a European level which is underpinned by having two seats representing the RTT-Alliance on the committee. The RTT Committee meets regularly through web meetings as well as face-to-face to discuss issues relevant to the work of RTTs in Europe and to find and implement means to advance the profession and raise the standard of care to our patients.

The terms of reference of the RTT Committee are to:

  • Raise the professional profile of RTTs
  • Facilitate the development of continuing education
  • Create networks with other RTTs in Europe and worldwide to exchange knowledge, views and ideas
  • Interact with other professionals and provide synergy in the multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of cancer
  • Encourage an increased understanding of the scientific basis of our profession and to learn about new techniques and attitudes
