ESTRO Physics Workshop 2026 - Science in development

The ESTRO Physics Committee is delighted to announce the ESTRO Physics Workshop 2026, which will take place 8–9 October 2026 in Prague, Czech Republic.

Feedback from the ESTRO physics community has highlighted that the busy schedule of the annual congress often leaves little time for in-depth discussions on emerging topics. The Physics Workshops were created to address this need by providing a focused and interactive environment where experts and participants can explore key challenges in radiation oncology physics and discuss future directions together.

Unlike traditional conferences, the workshops are neither lecture-based meetings nor teaching courses. Instead, they are designed to facilitate scientific exchange, professional networking, and collaboration within the ESTRO physics community.

Participants register for a single topic and actively contribute to the programme through discussions, short presentations, and idea exchanges. Each workshop group is encouraged to develop plans for future collaborative activities, which may lead to research initiatives, surveys, publications, educational activities, or other community-driven projects.

This year's topics reflect some of the most exciting developments and challenges in the field, including simulation-free radiotherapy, proton RBE mitigation strategies, data interoperability frameworks in radiation oncology, AI integration in biology and physics for radiotherapy planning and adaptation, and reducing physical uncertainties in stereotactic arrhythmia radioablation (STAR).

Explore the topics listed under the programme tab and join us for two days of discussion, collaboration, and innovation.

We look forward to welcoming you to Prague for another inspiring edition of the ESTRO Physics Workshop.
