Before the workshop, pre-workshop homework will be sent out that needs to be complete before the workshop. This will be accompanied with prerecorded instructions how to use Falcon Educase and how to logon for the first session with Zoom. This will be sent one week before the first workshop lesson. On the first online lesson the faculty members will give a guideline presentation, and will review and comment your pre-workshop contours. Participants are requested to contour the case the second time based on the taught guidelines. On the second online lesson the faculty members will compare the first and the second submitted contours to the reference contours and generally comment the delineations.

This Brain Tumour delineation workshop is aimed at all students, physician assistants, researchers and junior to experienced radiation oncologists who want to hold their institutional brain tumour delineation guideline against the currently available literature, enabling even senior specialists to refresh and validate their knowledge and skills in this field. The workshop brings the live delineation workshops from the annual ESTRO conference to your doorstep in two sessions in which you can practice, learn and are free to ask any questions you might have on this subject.

The increasing use of highly conformal radiotherapy techniques, such as VMAT and proton therapy in the treatment of brain tumours, allows us to selectively spare organs at risk while maintaining adequate target coverage. While long-term side effects associated with cranial irradiation have long been recognized, the relationship between toxicity and dose remains complex. Accurate and consistent delineation is therefore essential in modern brain tumour radiotherapy.

Standardization of delineation is crucial if we want to advance our knowledge and improve clinical practice in brain tumour radiotherapy. In this course we will focus on practical aspects of brain tumour delineation. A practical toolbox for delineation relevant to daily clinical practice will be provided.
