St Luke’s Radiation Oncology Network, Dublin, Ireland
St Luke’s Radiation Oncology Network (SLRON) is seeking a highly experienced Director of Physics / Chief Physicist to provide strategic, scientific, professional and academic leadership at an important stage in the development of the Network.
The Director will lead a multidisciplinary Physics and Clinical Engineering service of more than 40 staff across three SLRON sites in Dublin. The Network currently operates 14 clinical linear accelerators, with additional access to a research linear accelerator, together with 6 CT and 2 MRI scanners.
This appointment comes at a defining time. SLRON is embarking on a comprehensive equipment replacement and capital investment programme, alongside a major expansion at the SLRON Beaumont Centre that will include three additional linear accelerators together with a further three bunkers for future expansion. The successful candidate will have a central role in this transformation along with shaping the future technological, scientific and clinical direction of the Network. The Director will lead the continued development of safe, innovative and internationally benchmarked physics services to support improved patient care.
The Director of Physics is a member of the SLRON Network Executive Management Team which sets and implements Network strategy at executive level.
The role also offers significant opportunities to advance research, education and clinical innovation, building on established Undergraduate, MSc and PhD links with the School of Physics in University College Dublin and SLRON’s participation in the all-Ireland CAMPEP-accredited radiotherapy physics residency programme.
We are seeking an accomplished and forward-looking medical physics leader with the scientific standing, strategic vision and collaborative leadership required to lead a major service through its next phase of development.
