Background

ESTRO has been working to make leadership selection transparent, aiming to ensure diversity of perspectives and expertise. Recent open calls for leadership positions have strengthened community engagement, increased the range of applications, and successfully filled key roles.

Building on this approach, we invite our members to indicate their interest and availability for this prestigious and impactful leadership role.
 

Process Overview

Expression of Interest Phase

• Submission until 27 October 2025
• Send EOI to: president@estro.org
• The process will be treated confidentially by both parties

Pre-selection

• President-Elect, President, and Past President together evaluate and propose the most suitable individuals
• Presidents, along with the inputs of Councils' Chairs and Treasurer, pre-select the two final candidates through a confidential process
• Board officially nominates them to stand for election in the General Assembly

Election

• The members in good standing, holding a full membership for two consecutive years, elect the President via a secret electronic ballot
• Simple majority of valid votes required

Key Dates

• 27 October 2025: due date for expression of interest and availability
• Elections open and close in Q2 2026; the new President Elect will be announced and celebrated in official communications immediately thereafter
• 18 May 2026: President-Elect is introduced at ESTRO26 General Assembly
