New endpoints for early breast cancer - Less is more?
Dorota Gabrys, Poland;
Elisabetta Bonzano, Italy
Making decisions about breast cancer treatment is not easy when we want to estimate whether the treatment is sufficient, too aggressive or insufficient. Therefore, improvements and optimization of early breast cancer treatment is a topic of this session and four excellent speakers will summarize this knowledge. At the beginning, proper trials methodology, practice-changing radiation therapy trials and quality-of-life measurements will be presented. Followed by a discussion on less radiotherapy and/or less surgery in early breast cancer. Next, evidence for boost application in invasive cancer/DCIS will be shown. Ending with decision-making on endocrine therapy taking into account patients’ preferences.
