Advanced skills in modern radiotherapy - A course for RTT's

19-23 May, 2019
Brussels, Belgium

TARGET GROUP

A course specifically designed for radiation therapists (RTTs), whatever your level of expertise.

Radiation therapy is rapidly evolving and this has great impact on the role of radiation therapists (RTTs). The target group for this course are radiation therapists who need to expand or refresh their understanding of modern radiation therapy treatment design and delivery and who want the tools to translate this theory into practice. We will provide a programme that will serve both the new and the more experienced radiation therapist. The programme will be comprehensive but solely target the level of knowledge and understanding that RTTs need for good clinical and evidence based practice in Modern Radiotherapy. This course will also help the participant in identifying the appropriate ESTRO courses for advanced education and personal development.

COURSE AIM/RATIONALE

Although modern radiation therapy is a group effort of physicians, physicists and radiation therapists, this course aims at radiation therapists only. In this way we will be able to give an overview of the steps in modern radiation therapy with enough room and time for radiation therapist specific tools and skills. The theory taught in the lectures will be translated into practical sessions when possible.
