Annoucing new ESTRO President-elect: Ben Slotman


Following the elections that ran from 20 January to 4 February 2018, ESTRO is pleased to announce Professor Ben Slotman, from VUMC Amsterdam, The Netherlands, as ESTRO President-elect.

Prof Slotman will formally start his role as President-elect in April 2018 at the ESTRO General Assembly taking place during ESTRO 37, the annual congress of the Society, in Barcelona. He will succeed Prof Umberto Ricardi who will start ESTRO Presidency at the same time, at ESTRO 37, succeeding Prof Yolande Lievens who has been serving as ESTRO President 2016-2018.

On his election,  Prof Slotman said: “I am very grateful for all support and the confidence placed in me. I look forward to working with you all on the future of ESTRO”.

President Yolande Lievens congratulated Prof Slotman and has expressed to candidate Prof Cai Grau ESTRO’s deepest gratitude in having shown availability to serve the society in its highest office, and the trust that he will continue his involvement in ESTRO activities, further developing his collaboration with the Society.

Out of the 4,409 eligible members, 1,029 voters submitted a ballot (23%), which in absolute numbers represents the highest participation so far for an electronic ballot. We thank all those who voted, for taking part in this important moment of our Society’s life.
