ESTRO Educational Travel Grants (ETG) are meant for clinicians, physicists, biologists, RTTs and scientists working or studying in the field of radiation oncology and being ESTRO members.

If you want to visit another institute to learn about or gain experience with a technique, equipment or its application that is not easily available in your institute and which would be useful to you and your department for future research or clinical treatments, then you can apply for an ETG.

Per year a budget of €30,000 is made available for short study visits to institutes of excellence in Europe or outside. There is one application deadline per year in the autmun. The deadline this year for educational visits in 2026 is on Friday, October 31 2025 at 23:59 CET.

Per granted application there is a maximum of €3,000 that can be reimbursed. It is however allowed to apply for a funding of €3,000 to partially finance a more expensive project. A budget must be submitted for approval.

Per institute, maximum one application will be granted per year.

How to apply

Before submitting your application for educational visits in 2026, please make sure your membership for 2025 or 2026 is in order.  

To apply for an ESTRO ETG, four documents must be submitted:

• A filled-out application form, with detailed budget ETG-2025-Application-Form
• Your CV (maximum 1 page)
• A letter of agreement from your department head, supporting the project and visit.
• A letter from the hosting department head, stating acceptance and support of the project and visit.

Selected projects must be executed as submitted and reviewed by the committee. No changes are allowed including the programme, visiting institute and budget. If not feasible, the grant will be withdrawn.
