Falcon 2022 Online Course - OAR Abdomen

This interactive and engaging workshop will focus on organ at risk delineation in the abdomen region.  The workshop will use a combination of contouring exercises based on CT imaging, as well as online lectures where current contouring guidelines will be discussed in detail.  Using the FALCON-Educase platform, participants will be able to hone their skills based on feedback from experts.  In the advent of the autocontouring era, it is particularly important to have a good knowledge of contouring guidelines of organs at risk, to be able to adapt autocontours appropriately. The aim of this workshop is to develop participants’ knowledge and interpretation of contouring guidelines.  In doing so, this workshop hopes to improve standardisation in organ at risk delineation for abdomen radiotherapy.

These online delineation workshops are aimed at junior clinical or radiation oncologists who want to improve their contouring skills or at more senior specialists who want to refresh and validate their knowledge and skills in this field.

Before the workshop, pre-workshop homework will be sent out that needs to be completed before the workshop. This will be accompanied with prerecorded instructions how to use Falcon Educase and how to logon for the first session with Zoom. This will be sent one week before the first workshop lesson. On the first online lesson the faculty members will give a guideline presentation, and will review and comment your pre-workshop contours. Participants are requested to contour the case the second time based on the taught guidelines. On the second online lesson the faculty members will compare the first and the second submitted contours to the reference contours and generally comment on the delineations.

Application for CME recognition will be submitted to the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME), an institution of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS).
