Exciting news for the radiation therapy community: the Association of Medical Technologists for Radiology Oncology (VMTRO e.V.) has officially joined the ESTRO RTT Alliance, marking an important step in strengthening collaboration and professional development across Europe.

Established in 2007 from a working group of the German Society for Radiation Oncology (DEGRO e.V.), VMTRO today represents nearly 400 medical radiology technologists dedicated to radiation oncology. With a strong national foundation, the association is now expanding its impact on a European scale.

Through this new partnership, VMTRO is set to support and empower German? radiation oncology professionals by promoting education and training, encouraging professional exchange, and advancing advocacy and quality development at both national and European levels. The collaboration opens new opportunities to share experiences, highlight best practices, and tackle the evolving challenges of modern radiation oncology together.

Key priorities for VMTRO include workforce development, adapting to rapid technological innovation, and continuously evolving professional competencies. By focusing on these areas, the association is helping to strengthen the role of technologists within interdisciplinary teams and ensure the highest standards of patient care.
