The Hellenic Society of Radiation Oncology (EEAO) has promoted ESTRO meetings and courses for the past ten years. In addition, the current EEAO Board has established an important training programme for residents in radiation oncology across Greece, offering webinars on a range of hot topics in radiotherapy, including: principles of radiobiology; radiotherapy and systemic therapy; new data in advanced-stage NSCLC and limited-stage SCLC; tumours of the CNS, head and neck, breast, upper and lower GI, GU, and gynaecological sites; emergency radiotherapy and palliation; quality assurance in radiotherapy; and radiotherapy combined with biomarkers.

Moreover, the EEAO has already suggested national clinical indications for IMRT and SBRT, and has proposed uniform informed consent forms for patients undergoing radiotherapy, to be used across all radiotherapy departments in Greece.
