iARTIST 2026 - International Advanced Radiotherapy Techniques Symposium

The first edition of the iARTIST International Advanced Radiotherapy Techniques Symposium is designed to place technological innovation in radiotherapy at the centre of scientific discussion rather than treating it as a secondary topic.

At many large oncology congresses, technological advances are addressed briefly despite their transformative impact on cancer care. iARTIST was created to provide a platform dedicated to the in-depth study of advanced radiotherapy techniques and their direct influence on clinical outcomes and the patient’s survival and quality of life.

A defining feature of iARTIST is its inclusive and global perspective. For colleagues working in regions with limited access to advanced technologies, the symposium will offer practical guidance on how innovation can be implemented gradually and sustainably. For centres that already apply modern techniques, it will provide a space in which to exchange real-world experience and discuss diverse technical and clinical approaches. Young radiation oncologists will benefit from dedicated opportunities to learn, present their work, and engage directly with international experts.

Radiation oncology is among the fastest-evolving medical specialties. Advances in imaging, treatment planning and delivery have enabled unprecedented precision while reinforcing radiotherapy as a cost-effective cornerstone of modern cancer care. Reflecting this evolution, the scientific programme of iARTIST will span the full spectrum of contemporary radiotherapy, including stereotactic radiosurgery, adaptive radiotherapy, reirradiation strategies, and particle beam therapy, with a strong emphasis on how the use of technology can be translated into meaningful patient benefit.

Each edition of iARTIST will be shaped by an artistic theme. The inaugural meeting will be held under the title “Improvising with Precision: Jazz & the Art of Radiotherapy”. It will highlight the balance between evidence-based guidelines and individualised, experience-driven decision-making that is necessary in daily clinical practice. Much like jazz, radiotherapy requires mastery of structure alongside thoughtful improvisation.

Hosted in Istanbul, which bridges East and West, iARTIST 2026 aims to foster collaboration, knowledge exchange, and long-term connections. By bringing together diverse perspectives from around the world, the symposium seeks to establish a lasting tradition dedicated to the advancement of radiotherapy through innovation, education, and shared expertise.
