8th MR in RT Symposium 2020 - PDF version

25 – 27 May 2020, Heidelberg, Germany

Endorsed by the European SocieTy for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO), the International Organisation for Medical Physics (IOMP) and the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM)

On behalf of the organising and scientific committees, we would like to cordially invite you to the 8th Magnetic Resonance in Radiotherapy (MR in RT) Symposium, which will take place in Heidelberg, Germany, from Monday, 25 May, to Wednesday, 27 May.

Heidelberg is well known for its unique combination of a romantic old town and a bustling science campus. It hosts the biggest German biomedical research institute, the German Cancer Research Center, and the oldest German university, Heidelberg University, which was established in 1386. The symposium is organised by the German Cancer Research Center in cooperation with the University Hospital Heidelberg.

The fast technological development and the rapid clinical implementation of MRI for radiotherapy are currently the most exciting, as well as the most challenging, developments in radiation oncology. Through this symposium, we would not only like to bring together specialists from all involved disciplines but also to foster a discussion about this field. The latest developments in MR-guided radiotherapy as well as clinical directions and results will be presented.

We look forward to receiving your abstracts for posters to be displayed at, and oral presentations to, the 8th MR in RT Symposium in Heidelberg 2020.

Prior to the symposium, on 24 May, we will organise a Satellite Symposium entitled "Dosimetry and QA in MR Guided Radiotherapy: from primary standards to clinical solutions”. This will take a more in-depth look at some aspects of clinical procedures for quality assurance and dosimetry during use of a MR-Linac.
