Modern Oncological Radiotherapy and new drugs now allow the achievement of better therapeutic objectives in cancer patients. High technologies combined with the deepening of knowledge on the heterogeneity of the tumour and its microenvironment allow the achievement of increasingly encouraging results with better prognosis. In this context, patients' compliance with innovative treatments and their integration with new drugs, as well as the opportunity and more frequent need for retreatments in patients with chronic stable disease due to increased overall survival, requires knowledge of the mechanisms that they are a prelude to the development of acute and late toxicity and its prevention. Equally fundamental remains the need for knowledge and management of therapeutic adjustments related to patient compliance.

The aim of this course is to offer learners the knowledge about the general principles of the evidence of modern radiotherapy, of innovative treatments in combination with new drugs and of the prevention and management of patient compliance in the field of various oncological diseases with a particular focus on lung, prostatic, mammary, head-neck and anal canal neoplasm. Furthermore, in the small group work, topics strictly related to research in the field of compliance with care will be addressed with reference to the possibility of using Big Data for the development of predictive models. In consideration of the limited mobility that has arisen as a result of the COVID pandemic and the uncertainties regarding the duration of the limitations relating to mobility and the possibility of gatherings, including for scientific purposes, also for this year we have decided to carry out the event in a format mixed which will include the afternoons of 12 and 26 November in virtual mode and the two days of 22 & 23 November  2021 on-site and live streaming.
