30th Anniversary of the TERA Foundation - PDF Version

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

On 15 September 1992, in a Notary's Office of Novara, the "Fondazione per la Terapia con Radiazioni Adroniche - TERA" was established by Elio Borgonovi, Gaudenzio Vanolo (who was nominated Secretary General), Giampiero Tosi and myself. Marco Silari was present as Technical Director. Few years later, Giampiero Tosi left the Board and Roberto Orecchia joined it. 

The Anniversary Symposium of the TERA Foundation will take place on 15 September 2022, at the European Council for Nuclear Research (CERN) Chamber. It will be opened by the CERN Director General, Fabiola Gianotti. The TERA activities along the years 1991-2021 will be described in chronological order by the eight Technical Directors.

Fabio Sauli will summarise the TERA developments in detectors for medical diagnostics and Marco Durante, Roberto Orecchia, and Maurizio Vretenar will give keynote speeches respectively on radiobiology and clinics of hadron therapy, and on the NIMMS program development.
