40 years. 40 memories. 40 weeks
My first ESTRO meeting was in The Hague in 1986. I was a resident and I had a presentation on Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. I was nervous at first as ESTRO had a serious reputation, but it turned out to be a very rewarding experience. Thanks to my regular participation to ESTRO meetings I was able to create a network that helped advance my research. Then the Evidence Based Radiation Oncology course director invited me to be a faculty member of the course. It was intensive at the beginning but as I gained more experience, I enjoyed teaching and sharing knowledge with others. ESTRO enabled me to combine my research with clinical expertise and allowed me to pass on my knowledge to the next generation.
