Closing Debate - “FLASH I love you, but we only have 14 hours to save the earth”. This house believes FLASH can do it!
Anna Kirby, United Kingdom;
Ben Slotman, The Netherlands
And so we arrive at our final destination in the ESTRO 2023 Congress, the Closing Debate. In keeping with the “From Innovation to Action” theme this year’s debate asks warriors of the European FLASH Universe to come off their respective fences and tell us whether they truly believe FLASH will be a clinical game-changer or simply a flash in the pan. For those of you old enough to remember, we are going full 1980s in this Flash Gordon-themed session, quoting the iconic line “FLASH I love you but we only have 14 hours to save the earth”. This house of course believes FLASH can do it but what do our ESTRO earthlings believe? There will be prizes for the best-dressed speaker/session attendee, the most pressing issue being whether you can fit Brian Blessed’s helmet in your hand luggage. Be there or Earth will be destroyed!
