After nearly 2 years of virtual events, we are excited to get back to business and bring together our brachytherapy community! We are pleased to announce the 2022 GEC-ESTRO Workshop in Nice! Our Annual GEC-ESTRO Workshop will be designed around the theme, “Improving Brachytherapy Together”.
Last time, in February 2022 the GEC-ESTRO Workshop was successfully held online – postponed from November 2021 because pandemic restriction. Despite this fact this GEC-ESTRO was extraordinary successful with more than 700 participants! Planned by the GEC-ESTRO Committee and organised by the ESTRO Office, this event has become a hallmark platform for networking with all GEC-ESTRO working groups:
- Anal-rectal
- Brachy-HERO
- BRAPHYQS
- Breast
- Gynae
- Pediatric
- Head and Neck and Skin
- UroGEC
The upcoming GEC-ESTRO workshop in December 1-2, 2022 will cover exciting new aspects of brachytherapy with each working group presenting and analysing a site-specific aspect of the modern image-guided brachytherapy. Besides the scientific part of the workshop, the format of the workshop supports networking and educational activities within and beyond the respective working groups. Our intention is unchanged – we intend to have a multidisciplinary, lively, interactive and practically oriented meeting, keeping the GEC-ESTRO spirit high. Our aim is to keep the format of our previous workshops with parallel and repeating sessions including industry. Additionally we will involve RTTs in our programme again.
We welcome and encourage you to register and join us at the workshop in Nice, a must for all those with a genuine interest in image-guided brachytherapy. Come and learn about our ongoing projects and take the opportunity of networking with like-minded brachytherapy enthusiasts.
Please note that as every year, the working groups will have smaller satellite meetings, which will be held either before or after the workshop. We encourage you to contact the working group leaders via echimfwembe@estro.org if you wish to join these meetings and provide your input.
