Biography
Dr. Christopher Kurz graduated with a Diploma in Physics from the Ruperto Carola University Heidelberg in 2011.
His PhD thesis was carried out at the Heidelberg Ion-Beam Therapy Center and studied PET-based carbon
ion therapy verification for moving targets. After successfully defending the thesis at the Ludwig Maximilian University Munich in 2014,
Dr. Kurz joined the LMU Department of Medical Physics, shifting his research focus towards CBCT image-guidance for adaptive proton
therapy. In 2016, Dr. Kurz otained a 2-years research fellowship from the German Cancer Aid, and joined the Department of
Radiotherapy at UMC Utrecht, pursuing research on the topic of MRI-guided proton therapy. Since 2018, Dr. Kurz is part of the
Department of Radiation Oncology at the University Hospital of LMU Munich, where, since 2020, his is heading a research group
fosusing on MRI-guided radiotherapy.
