Biography

Tatsuya Ohno is a Professor and Chairperson of Department of Radiation Oncology, Gunma University Graduate School of Medicine (2019-). Also, he is a Director of Gunma University Heavy Ion Medical Center. Based on the clinical experiences for more than 7 years at NIRS in Chiba, Dr. Ohno moved to Gunma University in 2007 to set-up a new carbon-ion facility at Gunma. He leads many clinical studies for various cancers in Gunma University since 2010, and is now a core member of the Japan Carbon-ion Radiation Oncology Study Group (J-CROS) since 2014. Dr. Ohno has served as Course Director on International Training Course on Carbon-ion Radiotherapy hosted by NIRS and Gunma University since 2012.He has been involved in several special PhD programs supported by Japanese government (the International PhD Training Program for Co-operative Experts in Radiation Oncology, the Program for Cultivating Global Leader in Heavy Ion Therapeutics and Engineering). He is a delegate of Japanese Society for Radiation Oncology (JASTRO) and a vice-chairman of the Particle therapy committee of JASTRO.
