Since 2002, Frank J Lagerwaard is Radiation Oncologist at the Amsterdam UMC, location VUmc in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. His areas of interest are Neuro-Oncology, Intracranial Radiosurgery, Extracranial Stereotactic Radiotherapy, Lung cancer and most recently, MR-guided (adaptive) Radiotherapy. The department has been the first European center to clinically implement daily adaptive MR-guided Radiotherapy (MRIdian system) in early 2016 and well over 1000 patients (6000 fractions) have been delivered thusfar. Main tumor sites treated with MRgRT have been prostate cancer, lung cancer, renal cell and pancreatic cancer, mostly with stereotactic fractionation.
