Biography

Jamema Swamidas PhD, is a Medical Physicist and Associate Professor in the Department of Medical Physics, Tata Memorial Centre Mumbai, India since 2001. Jamema’s main research interest is image-based brachytherapy, IMRT, IGRT and newer techniques like Adaptive Radiotherapy, and deformable image registration. She was trained in MR image based brachytherapy in Medical University of Vienna, and also worked on various other projects that include uncertainties in deformable dose accumulation in Image based Brachytherapy at Aarhus University Hospital, Aarhus, Denmark, and Failure mode and Effective analysis in Brachytherapy. She has served as the national executive committee member of the Association of Medical Physicists of India (AMPI) and also a certified physicist of College of Medical Physicists of India (CMPI) and currently the chief examiner of CMPI. She is also an ESTRO teaching faculty for image guided brachytherapy course and served as a consultant and teacher at IAEA for various regional training courses. She has been invited at various forums nationally and internationally in various capacities such as invited speaker, panelist, task group member etc. She is an author/co-author of more than 50 peer-reviewed scientific publications, as well as 5 book chapters, and acts as reviewer of many national and international journals.
