Biography

Since April 2004 Prof. Dr. Andreas Dietz is director of the ENT Department, University hospital of Leipzig. During the time of his assistant doctor, deputy and consultant he was working at the ENT Department University hospital of Heidelberg. He is a ful trained ENT and Head and Neck surgeon. In the context of numerous studies his scientific work concentrated on head and neck tumours. He is internationally well known as an expert in the field of head and neck cancer. Since 2001 Prof. Dietz is member of the executive board of the working committee Oncology of the German Society for otorhinolaryngology, head and neck surgery. Since 2013 he is elected as member of the presidential council of the German Society for otorhinolaryngology, head and neck surgery. He is active in numerous committees, such as the German Society of Cancer, European Laryngeal Society and EORTC Head and Neck group. He is member of honour of the Royal Belgian ENT society, Austrian ENT society and the Indian Head and Neck foundation. He is executive board member of the Innovation Center for Computer Assisted Surgery (ICCAS) Leipzig. He is affiliated member of board of directors the “Global Online Fellowship initiative“ Sloan Kettering Memorial Cancer Center New York and chair of the subcommittee surgery of the EORTC Head and Neck Group. He is currently incoming president of the German ENT-Society (DGHNO-KHC) and elected member of the board of directors of European Head and Neck Society (EHNS) since 2018. Andreas Dietz is author/co-author of more than 350 pub-med listed peer reviewed papers.
