Biography

Marco Krengli is full professor of Radiotherapy at the University of Padua and Director of the Division of Radiotherapy and of the "IstItuto Oncologico Veneto (IOV)" in Padua, Italy. He is Director of the postgraduation School of Radiotherapy. He teaches radiation oncology in several academic courses. After prostgraduating in Oncology, Radiotherapy and Radiology, he did a fellowship in Proton Therapy at Massachusetts General Hospital - Harvard Medical School in Boston, USA in 1995-1996. and worked at European Institute of Oncology in Milan, Italy from 1996 to 1998. Then he became Professor at the University of Eastern Piedmont and chief of the Oncology Department at the University Hospital in Novara, He became scientific consultant and member of the technical-scientific committee at the National Centre for Oncological Hadrontherapy (CNAO) in Pavia, Italy in 2011. The main reasearch activities include head and neck and prostate tumours, combined integrated treatments with radiotherapy and systemic therapy, particle therapy by protons and ions, multimodality imaging for diagnosis and treatment of various tumours and intra-operative radiotherapy. He was president of the Italian Skull Base Society (SIB) and of the International Society of Intra-Operative Radiation Therapy (ISIORT). Currently, he is co-Director of the ESTRO course on “Particle Therapy”. He has published 213 articles listed in Scopus with Impact Factor >1000 and H-index=37. He is member of ESTRO, ASTRO, AIRO, SEOR (honorary) and ISIORT.
