Ioannis Koukourakis is a Radiation Oncology resident at the Radiation Oncology Unit, Aretaieion University Hospital, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. He is also a PhD candidate focusing on preoperative radiotherapy in rectal cancer and immune response. He has participated in 31 medical congresses, with 21 abstract presentations. He has authored and co-authored 24 scientific articles. He is a member of the European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO), the Hellenic Society of Radiation Oncology, the European School of Oncology (ESO) and fellow in the College of the European School of Oncology (ESCO).
