Biography

Leila Shelley is Principal Stereotactic Physicist at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre (UK). She undertook her PhD at the University of Cambridge within the VoxTox Research Group between 2015 – 2019. The focus of her thesis was on accumulating delivered dose using biomechanical modelling to improve prediction of rectal toxicity in prostate radiotherapy. Prior to commencing her PhD, Leila trained as a Medical Physicist in Edinburgh in 2008, and later worked at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford, where as well as gaining broad experience across the specialism, she took a keen interest in in-vivo dosimetry using the electronic portal imager. She completed her MSc(MedSci) in Clinical Physics in 2010 from the University of Glasgow, and BSc(hons) in Physics from the University of Edinburgh in 2008.
