Biography

Ciro Franzese, MD, Associate Professor in Radiotherapy at Humanitas University – Department of Biomedical Sciences - Radiotherapy and Radiosurgery of Humanitas Clinical and Research Hospital. He graduated from the Naples University, Faculty of Medicine, in 2007 and obtained his post-graduate degree in Radiation Oncology at Florence University in 2014. From 2015 to 2022 he worked as Assistant Radiation Oncologist in Humanitas Research Hospital IRCSS, and from 2022 now he is Senior consultant in the same institution. From 2019 to 2022 he was Assistant Professor, and from 2023 Associate Professor at Humanitas University. Dr. Ciro Franzese has been involved in the implementation of Stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) and radiosurgery both for the treatment of primary tumors but also oligometastatic disease, in particular for genitourinary disease, head and neck cancer and liver tumors. He is tutor for residents in Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology and Radiology at Humanitas University, and teacher for schools in advanced radiotherapy techniques such as VMAT, IGRT, SBRT and SRS. Dr. Ciro Franzese is principal investigator and co-investigator in several prospective national and international trials. He has published over 100 scientific papers in international peer-reviewed journals and books chapters.
