Biography

Prof. Hiroshi HARADA is Director of Radiation Biology Center, Kyoto University and Professor of Cancer Cell Biology, Graduate School of Biostudies, Kyoto University. He graduated School of Science, Nagoya University, and obtained his Ph.D. degree from Graduate School of Science, Nagoya University, Japan in 2002. He started working as a Research Scientist at the Pharmaceutical Division, POLA Cosmetics & Pharmaceuticals Inc., and was appointed as an Assistant Professor at Graduate School of Medicine, Kyoto University. He became a Principal Investigator at Career-Path Promotion Unit for Young Life Scientists, Kyoto University as a Senior Lecturer in 2009, was appointed as an Associate Professor at Hakubi Center, Kyoto University in 2015, promoted to be a Professor in Radiation Biology Center, Kyoto University in 2016 and subsequently moved to the present positions in 2018. His research interests are gene networks responsible for malignant progression and radioresistance of cancer cells in a tumor-associated microenvironment, hypoxia.
