Andrea Vavassori graduated in Medicine at the University of the Study of Milan in Italy. After residency, he obtained a scholarship on IORT for breast cancer from the American Italian Cancer foundation. Since 2003, he is staff radiation oncologist at the European Institute of Oncology in Milan where he currently works as deputy director and quality representative of the radiotherapy division. He is enthusiastically involved in brachytherapy education for fellows and residents. He collaborates with physicists and engineers to the development of 3D printing applications in radiation therapy Between 2020 and 2021, he was the Chair of the Brachytherapy, Interventional Radiotherapy and Intraoperative Radiotherapy Working Group of the Italian Association of Radiation Oncology (AIRO). He is author or co-author of more than 50 peer-reviewed scientific articles and he serves as a reviewer for different journals.
