Cristina Gutiérrez MD, PHD was graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 1989, and received his PhD from the University of Barcelona, Spain in 2002, with the Thesis: Treatment of uterine cervix cancer with radical radiotherapy or RT complementary to surgery. Study of the prognostic factors’ influence. She is an Associate Professor of Radiology and Oncology at the University of Barcelona. Her primary research interests are Brachytherapy and Breast Cancer, especially Partial Breast Irradiation with interstitial implants. She is an active member of the GEC-ESTRO Breast working group. She is the Head of the Brachytherapy Unit at Catalan Institute of Oncology, Barcelona.
