Jolien Heukelom has done her residency at the Netherlands Cancer Institute, in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Her clinical training was combined with research about adaptive radiotherapy in head and neck cancer. She defended her thesis in November 2019. Part of the research she has done was supported by a KWF grant and done at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. She has been involved in quality assurance audits for Dutch residency programs for several years. Jolien is a member of the young ESTRO committee and of the ESTRO Education Council. She currently works at Erasmus MC in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and is seconded at the Holland Protonen Therapie Centrum in Delft.
