Steven Habraken has been a member of medical physics staff at the radiotherapy department of Erasmus MC since 2018 with a part-time cross-appointment at HollandPTC, combining clinical work and research in the fields of photon and proton radiotherapy. He holds a PhD in theoretical physics from Leiden University (2010). From 2010 to 2013 he worked at the Institute for Quantum Optics and Quantum Information in Innsbruck (AT) and from 2013 until 2014 at the Institute for Theoretical Physics of the University of Erlangen- Nuremberg (DE), focusing on theoretical quantum optics and nanophysics. In 2014, he enrolled the medical physics residency program at Erasmus MC, which he completed in 2018. His current research focuses primarily on proton therapy physics, automated treatment planning and robustness evaluation. He has co-authored 18 peer-reviewed journal articles (1 under review) and 13 published conference abstracts and proceedings. Currently, he is co-supervising 3 MSc. and 2 PhD students.
