Multimodal approaches in oligometastatic prostate disease: state-of-the-art
Local ablative treatment of oligometastatic prostate cancer has the potential to delay disease progression and subsequent systemic treatments and potentially prolong survival. However, there is a lot of debate on diagnostic assessment, treatment approaches and related predictors of response together with prognostic criteria, for this relatively new disease entity. In this session, the spectrum of oligometastatic prostate cancer, diagnostics, patients selection and prognostic aspects will be discussed, followed by treatment related characteristics of different oligometastatic and oligorecurrent/oligoprogressive states. Current literature and studies involving various oligometastatic facets as well as future directions in trials will be reviewed.
